Lee / Fitzgerald win limited competition to adapt seminal Gillespie Kidd & Coia masterpiece

Lee / Fitzgerald Architects win commission to refurbish and adapt Gillespie Kidd & Coia's seminal 'Blackwells Music Bookshop' for Wadham College, Oxford.

The now vacant building is to be re-used as a post graduate centre and graduate study facility.

Proposals include the re-orientation of the existing interior to allow the main access from the rear of the building, and the upgrading of the fabric & systems to form a model for the ecological reuse of 20th century modernist buildings.

It is anticipated that a planning application will be submitted later this year.
